There are other options of course, EBay and Amazon etc, but for us at least the first two have always been the easiest and they do offer good value usually, so it was a bit of an annoying discovery.Your IP address has been temporarily blocked due to a large number of HTTP requests. A final word of warning re cost, in the UK Game and Gamestation do not trade in Skylanders or even the starter packs. The 3DS version however, I can actually see getting a bit of replay, if I give it a chance again. The console version doesn't have much replay value, we have played enough to unlock everything, but now it sits collecting dust. We also have two of the expansion packs which unlock extra areas, but they're for the console versions only, I think. But you can play through the game with just the starter pack. We have about 20 skylanders and while it's not really necessary to have that many, you'll need one of each type/element to access all areas, which means buying at least 5 additional figures. In terms of cost, it can be a very expensive game. So if you haven't played a console version you'll probably enjoy it, but if you have, be prepared.
I'd just picked up the 3DS game back up the other day and had a lot more fun playing it this time, probably since its a while since we played the Xbox game. Don't get me wrong, I wasn't expecting it to be the same game scaled down, but we had not come across any info at the time to warn us of the differences. To be honest we (ie me and my 9 year old son) were very disappointed with the 3DS game, because it was so unlike the console version and it had not been clear from the descriptions online that it was so completely different. We have the console version and love it, then got the 3DS version to play on the go.
